AIIA Improv

AIIA (Artificially Intelligent Improvaholics Anonymous) was founded in Kuala Lumpur in 2007, establishing itself as Malaysia's first sustained improv organisation. Over subsequent years the troupe built a regular performance programme at Crackhouse Comedy Club and arts festivals across the city, with current members drawn from the Malaysian screen and stage industry. AIIA's longevity made it the reference point for improv in Malaysia and the anchor of Kuala Lumpur's improv community.

AIIA draws on the professional performance backgrounds of its members from the Malaysian screen and stage industry, applying theatrical craft to improv shows at established comedy and arts venues in Kuala Lumpur.

As Malaysia's founding and longest-running improv organisation, AIIA established the form as a sustained practice in the country and built the community infrastructure for subsequent Malaysian improv activity.
