Blah Blah Blah Improv

Founding (January 2023)

Mandy Plumb founded Blah Blah Blah Improv in January 2023 in Coolangatta, the southernmost suburb of the Gold Coast on the Queensland-New South Wales border. Plumb began learning improv at age 13 and has since performed at venues including the Brisbane Comedy Festival, Darwin Fringe Festival, Anywhere Festival, Brisbane Improv Festival, and New Zealand Improv Festival.

Formats and Programs

The company performs Theatresports, Chicago-style long-form improvisation, and original formats. Its collective members have performed over 300 shows to live audiences in Australia and internationally.

Community Role

Blah Blah Blah Improv serves the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales region, a geographic area previously underserved by dedicated improv organisations.

Blah Blah Blah Improv brings Theatresports and long-form improvisation to the Gold Coast-northern NSW region from Coolangatta, founded in January 2023 by Mandy Plumb.

State of Squidprov, a high-stakes competition format at HOTA (Home of the Arts) on the Gold Coast where NSW and Queensland teams battle through fast-paced improv challenges. Free fortnightly improv comedy nights at Currumbin Valley Brewing Co (November 2023 through May 2024). Theatresports-style and long-form improv performances across the Gold Coast and northern New South Wales.

Co-founded in January 2023 by Mandy Plumb and Jeremy West. Plumb began learning improv at age 13 and has performed across Australia, Dubai, India, and New Caledonia, with credits in television, commercials, and film. West trained in long-form and short-form improv at Big Fork Theatre and Improv QLD over seven years. The company established the Gold Coast's first dedicated improv comedy outfit in the Coolangatta area.
