Casa del Humor

Casa del Humor was established in Mexico City by Jesús Martínez Herrera and collaborators from the same generation of UNAM-trained theatre artists who built the city's professional improv scene in the 2000s. The school has been in operation for approximately a decade, training professional comedians across multiple disciplines with a faculty of specialists. Its production output includes the competitive format Improsport México and a range of stage productions associated with its teaching faculty. Martínez Herrera's parallel roles as co-founder of both El Impródromo and Complot Escena situate Casa del Humor within the interconnected network of Mexico City improv institutions.

Casa del Humor is structured as a multi-discipline comedy school rather than a single-genre performance company, treating stand-up, improv, clown, and cabaret as related but distinct performance languages that a working comedian should develop in parallel. Its teaching philosophy emphasises professional-grade instruction from practitioners actively working in Mexico City's comedy industry.
