CrossCurrents
CrossCurrents is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Association for Public Religion and Intellectual Life in the United States. It covers theology, interfaith dialogue, and social justice topics across multiple religious traditions including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Native American religions. The journal is edited by S. Brent Rodriguez-Plate of Hamilton College and published by the University of North Carolina Press.
History
CrossCurrents was founded in 1950 by Joseph Cunneen, a Catholic veteran who sought to bring European religious thinking to the United States after World War II. Before 1990, it was published by Cross Currents Corporation under co-editors William Birmingham and Joseph Cunneen, who then transferred publication to the Association for Public Religion and Intellectual Life that year.
