History
People's Republic of Comedy was founded in Shanghai around 2013, building a programme of short- and long-form improv at the Kung Fu Komedy Club, one of Shanghai's established comedy venues. The company extended beyond Shanghai with touring to Chengdu and other Chinese cities, developing a national profile within China's English-language improv circuit. Corporate training formed a third strand of the company's operations, connecting artistic programming with commercial applications.
