LocationRabat, Morocco

The Troupe d'Improvisation du Maroc (TIM) is Morocco's leading professional improv troupe, based in Rabat, performing monthly at Villa des Arts and organising the Festival International d'Improvisation du Maroc.

History

The Troupe d'Improvisation du Maroc established itself as Morocco's primary professional improv organisation, performing monthly at Villa des Arts Rabat and the Cultural Complex of Anfa in Casablanca. The troupe created the Festival International d'Improvisation du Maroc (FIIM), the country's premier improv festival, which brought international companies to Morocco and positioned Rabat as the hub of North African improv. TIM's work within the French-language improv tradition connected it to the wider francophone improv circuit.

Artistic Identity

TIM operates as both a performing ensemble and a festival organisation, using monthly performances at major cultural venues and the FIIM festival to anchor Morocco's professional improv scene.

Legacy

The FIIM festival established Morocco as a destination on the international francophone improv circuit and gave TIM a platform to connect North African practitioners with the global improv community.
