Wellington's longest-running improv company, operating for over 20 years from a base at Toi Poneke. WIT offers introductory classes through the Wellington Community Education Centre and regular Tuesday night training sessions.
History
The Wellington Improvisation Troupe (WIT) has operated in Wellington for more than 20 years, making it the capital's longest-established improv company. The troupe is based at Toi Poneke arts centre and runs regular Tuesday evening training sessions. Introductory improv classes are offered through the Wellington Community Education Centre, making WIT's training accessible to newcomers without prior experience.
Artistic Identity
WIT operates primarily as a training and community organisation, using the Tuesday training format and community education partnerships to build Wellington's improv community over two decades.
