Camp Improv Utopia East
Camp Improv Utopia East is the East Coast edition of the Improv Utopia retreat series, held as a multi-day immersive workshop event combining instruction from touring master teachers with shared cabin lodging, all meals, evening performances, jams, and outdoor recreation. The 2026 edition runs August 28-31 at Camp Pontiac in Copake, New York, organized by Improv Utopia, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
History
The East Coast edition launched in 2014 to bring the summer-camp-meets-improv format to improvisers on the eastern side of the country. Previous editions have been held in the Poconos near Stroudsburg, PA, and at Camp Kennybrook in Monticello, NY before moving to Copake for 2026.
