Jet City Improv Festival
The Jet City Improv Festival (JCIF) is an improv festival held in Seattle, Washington, organized by Jet City Improv and Wing-It Productions. The inaugural edition takes place July 16-18, 2026, with performances at West of Lenin Theatre in the Fremont neighborhood and workshops at both West of Lenin and University Heights Center. The festival features performances, workshops, social mixers, and partner events.
History
The festival launched in 2026 as a successor to the Seattle Festival of Improv Theater (SFIT), which ran from 2001 to 2019. It is organized by Jet City Improv, one of the Pacific Northwest's longest-running improv companies, founded in 1992, and marks a return to festival programming after a multi-year hiatus.
Significance
JCIF represents a revival of large-scale improv festival programming in Seattle, reconnecting the city's improv community with a tradition established by SFIT over nearly two decades.
