La Semaine de l'Impro
La Semaine de l'Impro is an annual theatrical improvisation festival held in Nancy, France, organized by Impro Nancy. The festival brings together amateur and professional performers from France and abroad for a full week of shows, workshops, and community events, with programming spanning theatrical, musical, clownish, and literary improv formats. Each edition opens with the Tinkers weekend of back-to-back short performances, continues with daytime workshops and evening double-bill shows at the Théâtre de Mon Désir, and closes with an international tournament at Salle Poirel.
History
The festival has been held annually since approximately 2010, reaching its 17th edition in April 2026. Its closing international tournament has grown from a three-nation to a four-nation format over the course of the festival's run.
Significance
The festival draws international companies from countries including Brazil, the United States, Colombia, and Belgium, reflecting a scope that extends beyond the French regional improv community.
