Naked Stage
Naked Stage (Goli oder) is an international contemporary theatre festival held annually in the last week of October at KUD France Prešeren in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Originally focused on improvisational theatre, the festival expanded in 2006 to encompass improvisation across various fields of contemporary art. It is organized by the Slovenian improv group Narobov, with artistic directors Maja Dekleva and Gregor Moder.
History
The festival was founded in 2002 by the Improvisation Society of Slovenia under the title Naked Stage International Improvisational Theatre Festival. It has grown to include invited theatres and guests from across Europe, North America, and Australia.
Significance
The festival serves both Slovenian and international audiences by showcasing developments in improvisational theatre and offering artists opportunities for research through intensive workshops; it focuses exclusively on longform improvisation within the theatre program.
