Twin Cities Improv Festival
The Twin Cities Improv Festival (TCIF) is a four-day annual improv festival held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, showcasing local Twin Cities improv groups alongside visiting troupes from across the United States and internationally. The festival features performances, workshops, and a finale show, and is organized by Minneapolis trio Five Man Job (Butch Roy, Nels Lennes, and Lauren Anderson). TCIF20 takes place at the Phoenix Theater in Uptown Minneapolis.
History
Founded in 2006 by Five Man Job, the festival was long held at HUGE Improv Theater before that venue closed in fall 2024, prompting a return to the Phoenix Theater in Uptown Minneapolis, where the festival originally began. TCIF20 marks the festival's 20th annual edition.
Significance
TCIF is one of the longest-running improv festivals in the Midwest, drawing both regional and out-of-town acts including nationally recognized performers.
