Tracy Newman
Tracy Newman is a founding member of The Groundlings, the Los Angeles improvisational comedy troupe, where her sister Laraine Newman was also a founding member. Her background in improv informed a television writing career that included contributions to Cheers, Ellen, The Nanny, and The Drew Carey Show, developed in partnership with writer Jonathan Stark. She co-wrote the 1997 Ellen episode known as "The Puppy Episode," for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and a Peabody Award.
