Compania Artistica Chuquiago

Compania Artistica Chuquiago was founded in La Paz in 2010 by Yungaro Santalla, introducing theatrical improvisation to Bolivia for the first time. The company created the production Atemporal, which toured across Bolivia, bringing improv performance to multiple cities in the country. Operating from La Paz, the administrative capital and one of Bolivia's major cultural centres, Chuquiago established the form as a practised discipline in a country where it had not previously been systematically developed.

Compania Artistica Chuquiago operates as Bolivia's founding improv ensemble, producing touring work that extends improv performance across the country from its La Paz base.

As Bolivia's first theatrical improvisation company, Chuquiago introduced the form to the country and demonstrated through national touring that it could sustain audiences across Bolivian cities.
