FIG (Formosa Improv Group) is Taiwan's first fully bilingual improv team, founded in 2018 in Taipei, performing monthly shows and running weekly bilingual improv workshops.
History
FIG was founded in Taipei in 2018 as the first fully bilingual improv team in Taiwan, offering programming in both English and Mandarin Chinese. The group developed monthly mainstage shows alongside weekly bilingual workshops, creating a dual-track programme that served both performance and training functions. By operating bilingually, FIG extended improv beyond the English-language expatriate community and built connections with local Taiwanese audiences and practitioners.
Artistic Identity
FIG operates as a fully bilingual English-Mandarin improv ensemble, using both monthly shows and weekly workshops to develop improv practice across Taiwan's English-speaking and Chinese-speaking communities simultaneously.
