Hitchhikers Improv Company

Founding (2013)

Andy Parry, Cameron Chomyn, Danny Murphy, and Samantha Gross founded Hitchhikers Improv Company in Regina in 2013, initially performing above a shoe store in The Creative City Centre. The four founders, who included graduates of Miller High School in Regina, built the company from a small troupe running sold-out early shows into a full improv organization.

Building Regina's Improv Scene

By 2017 Hitchhikers had helped catalyze a Regina improv scene with three active companies and up to six shows monthly across the city, leading CBC to describe Regina as becoming a hub for improv comedy in the province. The company's primary regular venue became the Artesian on 13th, with additional shows at their own studio and at Brewed Awakening Dewdney. Hitchhikers runs three to five shows per month combining short-form and long-form formats.
