Jakarta Improv Club is a community improv group hosting regular open mic nights and workshops at venues including The Gunslinger's Hop, founded by Lizzie Chan.
History
Jakarta Improv Club was founded by Lizzie Chan to create a community-oriented improv space in Jakarta, running regular open mic nights and workshops at venues including The Gunslinger's Hop. The club developed the IMPROVing Life workshop series alongside its performance programming, offering applied improv in personal development contexts. Operating alongside IMPROVINDO in Jakarta, the club extended improv access to a community participation level beyond the professional performance model.
Artistic Identity
Jakarta Improv Club operates as a community-facing organisation, using open mic nights, workshops, and the IMPROVing Life series to make improv accessible as both performance and personal development.
