A Sao Paulo improvisation and creativity school founded by actor, clown, and improviser Marco Goncalves, who began teaching regular courses in 2008 following a decade of work with Cia do Quintal and years as a recurring performer in Improvavel.

History

Marco Goncalves began improvising in 2002 and joined Cia do Quintal, performing in "Jogando no Quintal" for 10 years as the athlete-clown character Fonseca and co-developing the Harold-structured show "Caleidoscopio: Improvisacao Teatral." He began regular improvisation teaching in 2008. His performing work extended to multiple Brazilian television programs including "E Tudo Improviso" (Band) and "Agora e Tarde" (SBT), and he co-hosted "D'Improviso" on Portuguese broadcaster SIC.

Goncalves has been a recurring cast member of Improvavel since 2008, one of the show's most frequently appearing guest performers alongside the core Barbixas trio. He co-created "Noite de Improviso" at Comedians Club in Sao Paulo. La Impro operates as his improvisation and creativity school.

Artistic Identity

La Impro focuses on creating safe, deep, and playful learning environments for improvisation and creativity. Goncalves's background bridges theatrical improvisation and clown, bringing both strands to his teaching. The school's training draws from long-form approaches shaped by his Cia do Quintal work and his years in Improvavel's ensemble.
