Ligue Nationale d'Improvisation Holds Its First Match in Montreal

In 1998, the Ligue Nationale d'Improvisation entered a partnership with the Festival Just for Laughs in Montreal and returned to television through associated broadcasting arrangements. The Just for Laughs partnership brought the LNI's format before international comedy industry audiences and connected the French-language competitive improv tradition to the English-language comedy festival circuit operating out of the same city.
