Second City Touring Company
The Second City Touring Company is the touring arm of The Second City, the improvisational comedy enterprise based in Chicago, Illinois. The Second City has been continuously operating since its debut in 1959 and maintains training programs and live theaters in Toronto and New York in addition to its Chicago home.
History
The Second City was founded in 1959 by Paul Sills, Bernie Sahlins, and Howard Alk, with its first revue premiering on December 16, 1959 at 1842 North Wells Street in Chicago. In February 2021, private equity firm ZMC purchased the organization.
