KC Improv Company was founded in Kansas City, Missouri in 2000, initially performing corporate and private shows before launching weekly public performances on January 1, 2012. The company grew to 25+ professional performers and four shows per week at its Westport location.
Bird Comedy Theater Opens in Kansas City
The Bird Comedy Theater opened in 2022 in the Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, Missouri, co-founded by Bobby Miller Jr. The venue quickly became the city's primary dedicated comedy space. Co-founded by Bobby Miller Jr., the Bird presents long-form and short-form improv, sketch, stand-up, and variety programming through its resident company the Bird Comedy Players, and offers classes ranging from drop-in sessions to 16-week advanced programs.
