Laraine Newman
Laraine Newman co-founded the improvisational comedy troupe The Groundlings in 1974 alongside her sister Tracy Newman and others, and was subsequently cast as one of the original members of Saturday Night Live, where she performed from 1975 to 1980. At SNL she created recurring characters including Connie Conehead, Sherry the Valley Girl, and Christie Christina. She and the rest of the original SNL cast were inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 2017.
